  1. So I got dumped last month. Six days before our 4-year anniversary. It hurt like hell until I got to tell him what I thought. From that point on, I have had great strides in coming to terms with the break-up. But I’m not dumb…even though I am outwardly “letting go and moving on,” I recognize that my heart is still grieving and will do so for awhile. I have contacted a number of arts organizations here in Kansas City (symphony, ballet, opera, theatre, etc.) and bought tickets to a lot of performances. This way I will have something to look forward to and to get me out of the house. I did this five years ago after I lost my mother with whom I was very close. Just knowing that I would get out and about gave me a reason to move on. I won’t need to do this as much during the 2020-2021 season, but I am looking forward to the 2019-2010 season with relish. Who knows? Maybe I will meet someone at one of the events. That’s how I met my last sweetheart and we packed a lot of loving and a lot of living into the four years we had together. We are going to remain close friends and stay in each other’s lives.
